Registration Policies

The final responsibility for meeting all program/degree requirements and being informed of University regulations and procedures rests with the student.

Before registering, students must meet with their advisor to plan their class schedule and receive clearance for registration. Once registered, students must obtain an advisor’s approval before making any changes to their approved class schedule.

  • Students with a financial hold on their account will be unable to register.
  • Full semester course adds are not allowed after the ninth calendar day of the semester.
  • Students must be registered for a course before attending class or participating in any clinical/rotation, student teaching, or other off-site component of a course.
  • Students who are not registered for classes after the ninth calendar day of the semester will not be permitted to reside in the residence halls. Students may face financial responsibility of residing in residence halls without being registered.
  • If an undergraduate student wishes to register for more than 20 credit hours, authorization from the Provost or designee is required. Depending on the course added, there may be an additional per credit hour tuition charge for every credit over 18 credit hours. Students should consult with Student Administrative Services with any questions about this.
  • Independent Learning Contracts are required for Independent Studies, Internships, Advanced Studio, Directed Research, and Honor courses. Students must contact the instructor to discuss and complete the learning contract prior to registration of these courses.
